Protection of special referees, mediators and arbitrators

27A. Protection of special referees, mediators and arbitrators



(1) A special referee, mediator or arbitrator to whom a proceeding, part of a
proceeding or question arising in a proceeding is referred under the Rules
has, in the performance of his or her duties in connection with the reference,
the same protection and immunity as a Judge of the Court has in the
performance of his or her duties as a Judge.

(2) Subsection (1) applies despite anything to the contrary in the
Commercial Arbitration Act 1984.
