Existing registrations

68. Existing registrations



(1) A person who was a licensed surveyor under the repealed Act immediately
before the commencement of this Act is deemed to be registered as a licensed
surveyor under this Act.

(2) If a person is deemed to be registered under this section, and the
registration of that person under the repealed Act immediately before the
commencement of this Act was suspended, the registration of that person under
this Act is deemed to be suspended for the remainder of the period for which
that person's registration would have been suspended under the repealed Act.

(3) The registration of a person who is deemed to be registered under this
section expires, unless sooner cancelled-

   (a)  if the person pays the prescribed registration fee within 3 months
        after the commencement of this Act, at the end of the period of 12
        months after the commencement of this Act, unless the registration is
        renewed under section 7; or

   (b)  in any other case, at the end of the period of 3 months after the
        commencement of this Act.
