Resignation and removal
49. Resignation and removal
(1) A member of the Board ceases to be a member if he or she is absent,
without leave first being granted by the Board, from 3 consecutive meetings of
which reasonable notice has been given to that member, either personally or by
post.
(2) A member of the Board appointed under section 47(2)(a), (b), (c), (d) or
(e) ceases to be a member if he or she ceases to hold the qualification for
appointment referred to in the paragraph.
(3) A member of the Board may resign the office of member by writing signed by
the member and addressed to the Minister.
(4) The Minister may at any time remove a member of the Board from office.
(5) If a member of the Board dies, resigns, is removed from office or ceases
to hold office under this section, the Minister may, in accordance with this
Act, fill the vacant office.
(6) A member appointed under subsection (5) holds office for the rest of the
term of appointment of the member whose place he or she fills.
