Serious offender status to be noted on record

6F. Serious offender status to be noted on record



(1) A court that sentences a serious offender for a relevant offence must, at
the time of doing so, cause to be entered in the records of the court in
respect of that offence the fact that the offender was sentenced for it as a
serious offender.

(2) Despite anything to the contrary in the Evidence Act 1958 or the
Crimes Act 1958, a statement of the fact that an offender was sentenced for a
relevant offence as a serious offender may be included in a certificate issued
under section 87(1) of the Evidence Act 1958 or in a certified statement of
conviction issued under section 395 of the Crimes Act 1958.
