Landlord must give tenant certain information

66. Landlord must give tenant certain information



(1) The landlord must on or before the occupation day give the tenant a
written statement in a form approved by the Director setting out in summary
form the rights and duties of a landlord and tenant under a tenancy agreement.

Penalty: 5 penalty units.

(2) If there is no agent acting for the landlord, the landlord must on or
before the occupation day give the tenant-

   (a)  written notice of the landlord's full name and address for the service
        of documents; and

   (b)  an emergency telephone number to be used in the case of the need for
        urgent repairs.

Penalty: 5 penalty units.

(3) If there is an agent acting for the landlord, the landlord must on or
before the occupation day give the tenant-

   (a)  written notice of the agent's full name and address for service of
        documents and the agent's telephone number and facsimile number; and

   (b)  a written statement setting out-

   (i)  whether or not the agent can authorise urgent repairs; and

   (ii) if the agent can authorise urgent repairs, the maximum amount for
        repairs which the agent can authorise; and

   (iii) the agent's telephone number or facsimile number for urgent repairs.
        Penalty: 5 penalty units.

(4) A landlord must give the tenant notice in writing of any change in the
information set out in subsection (2) or (3) before the end of 7 days after
the change.

Penalty: 5 penalty units.

(5) In this section occupation day means a day that is the agreed day on which
the tenant is to enter into occupation of the premises.
