Not more than 1 bond is payable in respect of continuous occupation

34. Not more than 1 bond is payable in respect of continuous occupation

A person must not demand or accept a bond for a subsequent tenancy agreement
under which a tenant continues in occupation of rented premises if that
tenant-

   (a)  has paid a bond for the initial tenancy agreement under which the
        amount of rent payable for 1 week does not exceed-

   (i)  $350; or

   (ii) if a greater amount is prescribed for the purposes of section 31, that
        greater amount; and

   (b)  continues in occupation of those premises under the subsequent tenancy
        agreement.

Penalty: 10 penalty units.
