Objects and principles of rail safety

11. Objects and principles of rail safety



(1) The objects of this Act are to promote-

   (a)  the safety of rail operations;

   (b)  the effective management of safety risks in rail operations;

   (c)  continuous improvement in rail safety management;

   (d)  public confidence in the safety of rail transport;

   (e)  the involvement of relevant stakeholders in rail safety.

(2) The Parliament does not intend by Part 2 to create in any person any legal
right or give rise to any civil cause of action.
