PART 1 PRELIMINARY

Purposes

1. Purposes

The purposes of this Act are-

   (a)  to provide for safe, efficient and equitable road use; and

   (ab) to set out the general obligations of road users in relation to
        responsible road use; and



   (b)  to improve and simplify procedures for the registration of motor
        vehicles and the licensing of drivers; and

   (c)  to prevent the rebirthing of stolen vehicles; and





   (d)  to ensure the equitable distribution within the community of the costs
        of road use.
