Transfer of public records to Public Record Office
8A. Transfer of public records to Public Record Office
Subject to this Act, where a public record in the possession of a public
office other than the Public Record Office has been in existence as a public
record for 25 years and has ceased (whether before or after the commencement
of this section) to be required to be readily available for the purposes of a
public office, the public office must, as soon as it is practicable to do so,
cause the record to be transferred to the custody of the Public Record Office
in accordance with arrangements approved by the Keeper of Public Records.
