An Act with respect to the Establishment of a Public Record
Office and the Preservation, Management and Utilization of the Public Records of
the State.
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of
Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same
as follows (that is to say):
(1) The person holding office as Chairman of the Public Records Advisory
Council under the Principal Act as in force immediately before the commencement
of this section continues to hold office as President for the remainder of the
term for which, and on the same terms and conditions as those on which the
person was appointed as Chairman.
(2) A member of the Public Records Advisory Council who—
(a) was appointed under the Principal Act before the commencement of this
section; and
(b) has held office for 9 consecutive years—
continues to be a member until the expiry of his or her current term of
office but on that expiry is not eligible for re-appointment except in
accordance with section 4(4A) of the Principal Act.
