Police Regulation Act 1958 - SECT 8A

Police recruits

8A. Police recruits



(1) Subject to this Act and the regulations, the Chief Commissioner may from
time to time appoint so many police recruits as the Chief Commissioner thinks
necessary to meet the needs of the force.

(2) A police recruit may be appointed for such period as the Chief
Commissioner determines.

(3) The Chief Commissioner may terminate an appointment at any time or extend
it for such further period as the Chief Commissioner determines.

(4) A police recruit is not a member of the force except for the purposes of
Division 4A of Part IV.
