5. Authority of Chief Commissioner and officers
(1) The Chief Commissioner shall have, subject to the directions of the
Governor in Council, the superintendence and control of the force, and all
officers of police shall have the superintendence and control of that portion
of the force which is placed under their charge subject to the authority
herein conferred upon the Chief Commissioner and to the regulations made or to
be made by the Governor in Council as is hereinafter provided.
(2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the Chief Commissioner
may determine-
(a) the type or design of any uniform or equipment to be worn or carried
by members of the force, police recruits, police reservists and
protective services officers; and
(b) the conditions under which any uniform or equipment is to be worn or
carried.
