Appointment of Acting Chief Commissioner
4AB. Appointment of Acting Chief Commissioner
(1) The Governor in Council may appoint a member of the force as Acting Chief
Commissioner-
(a) while the office of Chief Commissioner is vacant; or
(b) during any period when the Chief Commissioner is suspended, sick or
absent from office.
(2) An Acting Chief Commissioner while so acting has all the responsibilities,
powers, authorities and duties and may perform all the functions of the Chief
Commissioner.
(3) A person appointed as Acting Chief Commissioner is eligible for
re-appointment.
(4) The Governor in Council may, at any time, revoke the appointment of a
member of the force as Acting Chief Commissioner.
