Functions of Office

41. Functions of Office



(1) The functions of the Office of Public Prosecutions are-

   (a)  to prepare and conduct effectively, economically and efficiently on
        behalf of the Director-

   (i)  any proceeding or other matter referred to in section 22(1);

   (ii) any other proceeding or matter in which the Director is involved;

   (c)  to assist the Committee for Public Prosecutions in the performance or
        exercise of its functions or powers.

(2) In the performance of the functions of the Office of Public Prosecutions
staff employed in that Office must have regard to the need to ensure that the
prosecutorial system gives appropriate consideration to the concerns of the
victims of crime.
