Power to discontinue criminal proceedings

25. Power to discontinue criminal proceedings



(1) Subject to this Act, the Director has the same power to enter a nolle
prosequi in criminal proceedings as the Director appointed under the Director
of Public Prosecutions Act 1982 had immediately before the commencement of
section 52.

(2) Nothing in this Act affects or takes away from the power of the
Attorney-General to enter a nolle prosequi in criminal proceedings.
