24ZD. Forfeiture of seized animal



(1) If a person is found guilty by a court of an offence against this Act or
regulations under this Act, the court may, in addition to imposing any other
penalty, order that any animal seized under this Part in relation to the
offence be forfeited to the Crown if the person who has been found guilty of
the offence is the owner or person in charge of the animal.

(2) If a forfeited animal is destroyed or sold, the costs associated with any
maintenance, care, removal and transport of the animal and the sale or
destruction of the animal must be deducted before any amount remaining is paid
into the Consolidated Fund.
