Infrastructure facilities

4A. Infrastructure facilities



(1) In this Act-

infrastructure facilities means facilities for engaging in any of the
activities mentioned in subsection (2), being-

   (a)  facilities that are resting on the seabed; or

   (b)  facilities (including facilities that are floating) that are fixed or
        connected to the seabed; or

   (c)  facilities that are attached or tethered to facilities referred to in
        paragraph (a) or (b).

(2) The activities referred to in subsection (1) are the following-

   (a)  remote control of facilities used for the recovery of petroleum in a
        licence area;

   (b)  processing petroleum recovered in any place, including-

   (i)  converting petroleum into another form by physical or chemical means
        or both (for example, converting it into liquefied natural gas or
        methanol); and

   (ii) partial processing of petroleum (for example, by the removal of
        water);

   (c)  storing petroleum before it is transported to another place;

   (d)  preparing petroleum (for example, by operations such as pumping or
        compressing) for transport to another place;

   (e)  activities related to any of the above-

but, except as mentioned in paragraph (a), do not include engaging in the
exploration for, or recovery of, petroleum.
