36. Application to be referred to Director and the Chief Commissioner
(1) The Authority must, except in the prescribed circumstances, give any
details that the Authority considers relevant in respect of each application
for a licence to the Director and the Chief Commissioner of Police.
(2) The Authority must refer any fingerprints taken under section 33(3) to the
Chief Commissioner of Police and must not itself keep a copy of those
fingerprints.
(3) The Chief Commissioner of Police, on receiving details of the application,
must make any inquiries in relation to the application that the Chief
Commissioner of Police considers appropriate.
(4) The Chief Commissioner, after receiving the results of the inquiries, must
report to the Authority.
(5) The Director may report to the Authority on any matter he or she considers
relevant in respect of an application for a licence.
(6) A report under subsection (4) or (5) may include recommendations.
