Subsidiaries

84. Subsidiaries



(1) A public entity that has the power to form, or participate in the
formation of, a body corporate and that intends to do so must, within a
reasonable time before doing so, notify in writing the Minister responsible
for the public entity and the Treasurer of that intention.









(2) The Minister responsible for the public entity may direct the public
entity not to form, or participate in the formation of, a body corporate or
impose restrictions or conditions on the exercise of the power including
restrictions or conditions as to-

   (a)  the powers to be conferred on the body corporate; or

   (b)  obligations or duties to be imposed on the body corporate.

(3) A public entity must comply with a direction given to it by a Minister
under subsection (2).
