Establishment and constitution of State Services Authority
37. Establishment and constitution of State Services Authority
(1) The State Services Authority is established.
(2) The Authority consists of-
(a) a member appointed as the chairperson;
(b) a member appointed as the Public Sector Standards Commissioner;
(c) as many other members as the Premier considers necessary to enable the
Authority to exercise its functions.
(3) Members are to be appointed by the Governor in Council on the
recommendation of the Premier.
(4) A person is qualified for appointment as a member if the Premier is
satisfied that he or she has-
(a) appropriate knowledge of, or experience in, one or more of the fields
of government, law, administration, human resources, public policy or
senior management; and
(b) the ability to advise on, and oversee the carrying out of, major
projects or investigations relevant to the functions of the Authority.
(5) A member cannot be appointed both as the chairperson and as the Public
Sector Standards Commissioner.
