Acting assignment as public service body Head

19. Acting assignment as public service body Head



(1) The Premier may assign any person to act as a public service body Head if
no-one is currently employed as that public service body Head or the person so
employed is suspended from duty or is sick or absent.

(2) A person, while acting as a public service body Head, has all the
functions of the public service body Head but is not, only because of that
assignment, to be taken to be an executive for the purposes of this Act.

(3) The Premier may, at any time, terminate the assignment of a person as a
public service body Head.

(4) This section only applies to the State Services Authority if the chief
executive officer of the Authority is also the Authority's chairperson.
