Delegation

18. Delegation



(1) A public service body Head may, by instrument, delegate to any person or
persons or body any of his or her functions under this Act, including any
function delegated to him or her under this Act.

(2) A delegate of a function under subsection (1) may, subject to any
conditions to which the delegation is subject, sub-delegate that function to
any other person or persons or body if the instrument of delegation authorises
its sub-delegation.





(3) Sections 42 and 42A of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984 apply to
a sub-delegation authorised by this section in the same way as they apply to a
delegation.
