PETROLEUM ACT 1998 - SECT 91
Term of authorisation(1) A special access authorisation continues in force for the period specified on the authorisation by the Minister, unless it is cancelled or surrendered earlier or unless this Act otherwise provides.
(2) The Minister may specify a period of up to 1 year on the authorisation.
