Salary, allowances and leave of absence

5. Salary, allowances and leave of absence



(1) The Ombudsman shall be paid-

   (a)  a salary at such rate as is fixed from time to time by the Governor in
        Council; and

   (b)  such travelling and other allowances as are fixed from time to time by
        the Governor in Council.

(2) The rate of salary paid to the Ombudsman shall not be reduced during his
term of office without his consent in writing.

(3) The Ombudsman shall be entitled to such leave of absence as the Governor
in Council from time to time determines.





(4) The salary and allowances payable to the Ombudsman shall be paid out of
the Consolidated Fund, which to the necessary extent is appropriated
accordingly.
