Suspension of Ombudsman
4. Suspension of Ombudsman
(1) The Governor in Council may at any time when Parliament is not in session
suspend the Ombudsman from office on the ground of disability, bankruptcy,
neglect of duty or misconduct or on any other ground which in the opinion of
the Governor in Council makes him unfit to be the Ombudsman.
(2) The Ombudsman so suspended shall be restored to office unless-
(a) a statement setting out the grounds of suspension is laid before each
House of Parliament during the first seven sitting days of that House
following the suspension; and
(b) each House of Parliament within 20 sitting days of the statement being
so laid passes an address praying for his removal from office.
