16. Certain offices deemed not to be office of profit under Crown

Where a member of Parliament or a person who is receiving or is entitled to
receive a pension under Division 4 of Part II of The Constitution Act
Amendment Act 1958 or a superannuation benefit under the
Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1962 or the
Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968, is or is appointed a
member of the Council or of an advisory committee or as a member of a
committee receives a fee or a travelling or other allowance under this Act
such member or person shall not for the purposes of Division 4 of the said
Part II or of section 8 of the
Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1962 or of section 23 of the
Parl iamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968 (as the case may be) be
deemed to have accepted or held an office or place of profit under the Crown.
