University Colleges

24A. University Colleges



(1) The Council, by Statute-

   (a)  may constitute any part of the University as a University College of
        the University; and

   (b)  may make such provision as it thinks fit for or with respect to the
        governance of the University College, including, without limiting the
        generality of the foregoing, the establishment of an Advisory Council
        for the College to advise the Council of the University on the
        management and development of the College.

(2) An Advisory Council of a University College, despite anything in this Act-

   (a)  may by resolution constitute and appoint such committees (consisting
        wholly or partly of members of the Advisory Council) as it thinks fit;
        and

   (b)  by resolution, may delegate all or any of its powers, authorities,
        discretions and functions (other than this power of delegation)-

   (i)  to any such committee of which at least half the members are members
        of the Advisory Council; or

   (ii) to any members of the Advisory Council; or

   (iii) to any officer of the University College.
