Sailors' Welfare Fund

4. Sailors' Welfare Fund



(1) On the coming into operation of this Act-

   (a)  the Sailors' Welfare Fund is closed; and

   (b)  all money standing to the credit of the Sailors' Welfare Fund must be
        paid into the Consolidated Fund.

(2) In this section, "Sailors' Welfare Fund" means the trust account
established by section 3 of the Melbourne Sailors' Home Act 1986 as in force
immediately before the commencement of this Act.

long title for the Bill for this Act was "to repeal the Melbourne Sailors'
Home Act 1986, to close the Sailors' Welfare Fund established under that Act,
to provide for the transfer of all money standing to the credit of the
Sailors' Welfare Fund to the Consolidated Fund and for other purposes." The
Melbourne Sailors' Home (Repeal) Act 2006 was assented to on 6 June 2006 and
came into operation on 1 July 2006: section 2(2). 2. Table of Amendments There
are no amendments made to the Melbourne Sailors' Home (Repeal) Act 2006 by
Acts and subordinate instruments.
