No compensation order

17. No compensation order



(1) On the recommendation of the Minister, the Governor in Council may make an
order that a major sporting event is subject to section 18.

(2) Before making a recommendation under subsection (1), the Minister must be
of the opinion that-

   (a)  it is in the public interest to make the order; and

   (b)  a no compensation order is necessary to ensure the effective
        management, conduct or organisation of the major sporting event.

(3) A no compensation order must be published in the Government Gazette.

Note This order is subject to tabling in Parliament and disallowance.
