Meat Industry Act 1993 - SECT 14

Licence application

14. Licence application



(1) A person may apply to the Authority for a licence to operate a meat
processing facility.

(2) The application-

   (a)  must be in writing in a form approved by the Authority for
        applications of that kind; and

   (b)  must be accompanied by the appropriate fee fixed by the Authority; and

   (c)  must include-

   (i)  if the applicant is a corporation or if the applicants are members of
        a partnership, the name of the operator; and

   (ii) if the application relates to a declared facility, poultry processing
        facility or game processing facility, a proposed quality assurance
        program for the facilities to be covered by the licence; and

   (iii) if the applicant nominates an operator in the application, evidence
        (addressing the matters in section 16) that the nominee is a fit and
        proper person to be an operator; and

   (iv) evidence (addressing the matters in section 16) that the applicant is
        a fit and proper person to be granted a licence.



(3) If asked to do so by the Authority, the applicant must give the Authority
any more information about the application that the Authority reasonably
requires.
