Role of Special Investigations Monitor

51. Role of Special Investigations Monitor

The role of the Special Investigations Monitor under this Part is to-

   (a)  monitor compliance with this Act by the Chief Examiner, Examiners, the
        Chief Commissioner and other members of the police force; and

   (b)  assess the relevance of any questions asked by the Chief Examiner or
        an Examiner during an examination to the investigation of the
        organised crime offence in relation to which the coercive powers order
        was made; and

   (c)  assess the relevance of any requirement made by the Chief Examiner or
        an Examiner for a person to produce a document or other thing to the
        investigation of the organised crime offence in relation to which the
        coercive powers order was made; and

   (d)  investigate any complaints made to the Special Investigations Monitor
        under this Part; and

   (e)  formulate recommendations and make reports as a result of performing
        functions under paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d).
