Appointment

5. Appointment



(1) The Governor in Council may appoint an eligible person as Special
Investigations Monitor.

(2) A person is an eligible person if he or she-

   (a)  is an Australian lawyer of at least 5 years' standing; and

   (b)  is not a member of the Parliament of Victoria or of the Commonwealth
        or of another State or a Territory of the Commonwealth.
