Owner must give information
18. Owner must give information
(1) In this section authorised officer means a person who is authorised by the
Director, or a person who is authorised by the Minister, for the purposes of
this section.
(2) The owner of a vessel must, when required to do so by a member of the
police force or an authorised officer-
(a) give information which is within the knowledge of the owner and which
may lead to the identification of any person, other than the owner,
who was the person in charge of the vessel on any occasion; or
(b) make all reasonable enquiries to obtain that information.
Penalty: For a first offence, 4 penalty units. For a subsequent offence, 8
penalty units.
