Court may order wife to support husband
9. Court may order wife to support husband
Where the court, upon complaint made by or on behalf of a husband, is
satisfied-
(a) that the husband is unable through illness or other reasonable cause
to support himself adequately; and
(b) that his wife, without just cause or excuse-
(i) has deserted him;
(ii) has neglected and still neglects to provide him with adequate means of
support; or
(iii) is about to remove out of Victoria without providing him with
adequate means of support- the court may order her to pay for or
towards his maintenance such amount as it thinks reasonable having
regard to his accustomed condition in life, his means and earning
capacity at the time of the hearing and any evidence before the court
as to his wife's means, earning capacity and ability to pay
maintenance.
