407. Power to require boiler to be placed under the charge of separate person



(1) Where in the opinion of an inspector of mines the duties of being in
charge of and working both an engine the mode of power of which is steam and
the boiler or boilers used in or in connexion with any mine cannot be
performed with safety by one person the inspector of mines shall by notice in
writing require the owner of the mine to forthwith place the boiler or boilers
in charge of and to keep the same in charge of some separate person as a
boiler attendant.

(2) Every owner who fails neglects or refuses to comply with any of the
requirements contained in such notice shall for every day on which such
failure neglect or refusal continues be liable to a penalty of not more than 1
penalty unit.
