Scholarships

400D. Scholarships



(1) The Minister may annually award not more than ten scholarships to such
persons as may be recommended by the Board.

(2) Where the Board is satisfied that a miner working in a mine within the
meaning of this Division is a fit and proper person to be awarded a
scholarship under subsection (1) it may recommend such miner to the Minister.

(3) A scholarship awarded under subsection (1) shall be held on such terms and
conditions as the Minister determines.

(4) Where the Board thinks fit it may conduct examinations for the purpose of
selecting candidates for scholarships to be recommended to the Minister.
