Temporary managers

389. Temporary managers



(1) If the manager of a mine is absent on leave or from sickness or from any
other reasonable cause for more than one week the owner or manager shall
nominate a person qualified to perform temporarily the duties of the manager.

(2) If for any reasonable cause the owner or manager is unable to obtain a
qualified person the owner or manager may nominate a competent person to
perform temporarily the duties of the manager subject to the approval of the
Chief Mining Inspector.

(3) A person nominated to perform temporarily the duties of manager shall have
the same responsibility and be subject to the same liabilities under this Act
as the manager.

(4) On the nomination of a person to perform temporarily the duties of a
manager the owner or manager shall send to the Chief Mining Inspector notice
of the name and address of that person.
