Notice of intention to mine
385. Notice of intention to mine
(1) The owner of every mine (not being a place used for prospecting by the
holder of a miner's right and in respect of which no lease licence or claim is
in force) shall notify the Chief Mining Inspector in writing of his intention
to commence work and of the location of the mine, and shall submit for the
approval of the Chief Mining Inspector the name and address of the person
nominated to be registered manager of the mine and such other information
relating to the operations to be conducted as may be prescribed.
Penalty: 10 penalty units.
(2) Where a tributer or contractor is in occupation of a mine or part of a
mine then a reference in subsection (1) to the owner in relation to the mine
or that part of the mine shall be read and construed as a reference to that
tributer or contractor only.
