Persons not to be employed below ground more than eight hours in any day

375. Persons not to be employed below ground more than eight hours in any day

No person shall be employed below ground in any mine for more than eight
consecutive hours at any time nor for more than forty-eight hours in any week
except in cases of emergency, and a person shall be deemed and is hereby
declared to be employed below ground and in the service of the owner of a mine
from the time that he commences to descend a mine until he is relieved of his
work and commences to return to the surface by the authority of the owner or
his agent.
