Election of Deputy Chancellor

17. Election of Deputy Chancellor



(1) The members of the Council shall from time to time as occasion arises
elect one of its members to be the Deputy Chancellor of the University for
such term and subject to such conditions as are prescribed.

(2) The Statutes or regulations may inter alia provide for voting by post and
for preferential voting at any such election.

(3) In the absence of the Chancellor or during any vacancy in the office of
Chancellor or during the inability of the Chancellor to act the Deputy
Chancellor shall have all the powers and duties of the Chancellor.
