Leave at half pay

71A. Leave at half pay



(1) An employee may request his or her employer to grant the employee an
amount of long service leave-

   (a)  twice as long as the amount to which the employee would otherwise be
        entitled; and

   (b)  at a rate of pay equal to half the employee's ordinary pay.

(2) An employer must grant a request made under subsection (1) if it is
reasonable to do so having regard to the needs of the employee and the needs
of the employer's business.
