Definition of employer and employee

59. Definition of employer and employee

In this Division- employee means a person employed by an employer to do any
work for hire or reward, and includes-

   (a)  an apprentice and any person whose contract of employment requires him
        or her to learn or to be taught any occupation; and

   (b)  a casual or seasonal employee;

employer includes, in relation to a transfer referred to in section 60, a
person who was not an employer at the time of the transfer.
