Former chairmen of Councils

7. Former chairmen of Councils



A person who, immediately before the commencement of section 71 of the
Local Government Act 1989, is the chairman of any municipality under the Local
Government Act 1958, is deemed to be elected as the Mayor of that Council
under section 71 of the Local Government Act 1989 and continues in Office for
the remainder of that person's term of office.
