Validity of election or poll

51. Validity of election or poll



(1) The validity of an election or poll is not affected by any defect in the
appointment of any person for the purpose of holding the election or poll.

(2) The validity of an election or poll is not affected by-

   (a)  any irregularity in any of the proceedings preliminary to voting; or

   (b)  any failure to hold the election or poll at any place appointed; or



   (c)  any failure to comply with any directions as to the holding of the
        election or poll or the counting of the votes; or

   (d)  any mistake in the use of any forms-

if the election or poll was conducted in accordance with the principles in
this Act and the irregularity, failure or mistake did not affect the result of
the election or poll.
