Application for an inquiry

45. Application for an inquiry



(1) Within 14 days of the declaration of the result of an election-

   (a)  a candidate in that election who disputes the validity of the
        election; or

   (b)  10 voters who dispute the validity of the election-

may apply for an inquiry into the election by a municipal electoral tribunal.

(1A) The application must be made in writing and must contain the details
required by the regulations.



(2) The application for an inquiry must be lodged with the principal registrar
of the Magistrates' Court.

(3) The prescribed fee must be forwarded with the application.
