37. Extraordinary vacancy within 6 months before a general election



(1) If an extraordinary vacancy occurs within 6 months before a general
election, the extraordinary vacancy is not to be filled unless the Council
decides to fill the vacancy.

(2) If the Council decides to fill an extraordinary vacancy which occurs
within 6 months before a general election, the Chief Executive Officer must
notify the Minister of that decision within 3 working days of the Council
making the decision.
