Powers of Councils over traffic

207. Powers of Councils over traffic

Subject to the Road Safety Act 1986 and any regulations made under that Act,
but without limiting any other powers of a Council as a road authority, the
powers include the specific traffic management powers set out in Schedule 11.
Example A Council must obtain the consent of VicRoads before exercising a
power under Schedule 11 which if exercised under a regulation made under the
Road Safety Act 1986 in respect of a major traffic control item would require
the consent of VicRoads.
