Landlord to serve sub-lessees of dwelling-houses in certain cases

32A. Landlord to serve sub-lessees of dwelling-houses in certain cases



(1) The landlord of any premises being a dwelling-house held on a periodic
tenancy the recurring period of which does not exceed one month who has been
notified by the tenant of the names and addresses of persons who are
sub-tenants of the premises or any part thereof at the date of the service of
the notice to quit shall upon taking proceedings for recovery of possession
pursuant to this Part serve a copy of the complaint and summons on each of the
said persons within the time and in a manner prescribed by section 32(1) for
service of the complaint and summons.





(2) Upon the hearing of the proceedings every sub-tenant of the premises or
any part thereof at the date of the service of the notice to quit shall be
entitled to be heard on the question whether the court should or should not
order a stay of issue of the warrant and upon no other question.
