LAND ACQUISITION AND COMPENSATION ACT 1986 - SECT 65

Restrictions in other laws not to apply

Despite any law, deed, agreement, will, memorandum or articles of association or other instrument which would otherwise prevent a person in whom an interest in land is vested from doing so, such a person—

        (a)     may sell and convey or grant and release or lease that interest to the Authority; and

        (b)     if the interest has been acquired by the Authority

              (i)     may take action to recover compensation; and

              (ii)     may agree with the Authority as to the amount of compensation payable in respect of the acquired interest.
