Interest in respect of expenses

56. Interest in respect of expenses

Despite anything to the contrary in section 53 or 54-

   (a)  if an amount has been claimed under this Act in respect of expenses
        and the amount of the expenses has been paid by the Authority, that
        amount does not bear interest under this Act;

   (b)  if the amount of any expenses claimed under this Act is disputed, the
        amount awarded in respect of those expenses bears interest from the
        date on which the claimant paid the expenses; and

   (c)  if-

   (i)  the amount of any expenses claimed under this Act is disputed; and

   (ii) the Authority has made an advance of compensation to the claimant; and

   (iii) the claimant has not paid the expenses- any amount awarded in respect
        of those expenses in addition to the amount advanced bears interest
        from the date on which the claimant pays the expenses.
